Company History
Tom Lapp founded Lapp Heating in 1975 with a commitment to provide customers with the best solutions to customer’s heating and cooling needs. Mike Cooperider, the current owner, was employed by Tom and then took over ownership of the business in 1997. Mike continues to provide the same exceptional customer service that Lapp Heating and Cooling was built on.

Mike joined Lapp Heating + Cooling in 1991 as a Service Technician and then purchased the business in 1997 from Tom Lapp.

Mike is up to date with all industry required licenses as well as a voluntary certification called NATE (North American Technician Excellence). NATE is the only certification program accepted by the entire heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigerant (HVACR) industry. Learn more about NATE here. Mike also regularly attends continuing education classes provided by the Trane Corporation and is a member of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA)

Mike resides in Mount Vernon with his wife Natalie and their daughter. Aside from family time, Mike enjoys golfing.
Steve Hockenberry
Service Technician
Steve has over 20 years of on-the-job HVAC experience and has serviced and installed a wide variety of brands such as Bryant, Carrier and Trane.

Steve joined the Lapp team in 2012 as a service technician. He helps with both installation and service jobs.

Steve has lived in Millwood 14 years with his wife and son. In his spare time he likes to hunt, play basketball and participate in bass fishing tournaments.
